Vastu Puja or the Vastu Griha Shanti Pooja is a custom long followed by all Indians. Before entering a new house or starting construction on a new plot, a Navgrahashanti called Vastu Shanti Homam is performed. The Vastu Mantras enchanted during the Pooja act as remedies to any Vastu Shastra defects present in the house or any malefic energy residing in the plot. There are also individual Vastu Mantras for the Vastu Dosha prevalent in the building structure or plot directions.
The method of the Vastu Puja involves Nava Dravyas symbolizing the nine planets and recital of the respective 108 Namavalis or the Vastu mantra consisting of 108 names for the planets called Navgraha Sooktam. Succeeding this is the Vastu Shanti Puja and offering the Homam and other prescribed material along with recital of Sri Rudram and Panch Suktas. Besides the Vaastu Pooja, using Vastu Yantras like the Saligram, Shankh, Parad Linga, Japmala, Crystal Linga, Meru and Sriyantra on expert consultation can be highly effective. These Vastu Yantras enable you to pacify the effect of any Vastu Dosha. They are also an integral part of conclusion of any Vaastu Puja. |
