Andaman Public Works Department, also known as the APWD, is the leading construction authority of the Andaman and Nicobar administration, which is responsible for carrying out civil works in the capital city of Port Blair also. Among different construction based activities, they also carry out the work of housing construction and development. In this regard, the authority is involved in the task of erecting residential accommodations and buildings.
After the disastrous tsunami had taken its toll in this part of our country, the Andaman Public Works Department indulged itself into the rehabilitation activities.
