Orissa State Housing Board came into being in the year 1960 as a State Organization. From the time of its formation, its priority is to build up infrastructure based on global standards and modernize the urban as well as rural areas. So far, Orissa Housing Board has completed construction of 28500 housing societies, encompassing 18 districts of Orissa. In Bhubaneswar itself, they have developed 17,000 houses and along with this, they have constructed residential complexes in growing urban city like Cuttack. They execute their projects keeping in mind the regional facilities like schools, hospitals, parks, shopping complexes and commercial premises.
