Noida, a suburb of Delhi, is located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Noida is an acronym of the "New Okhla Industrial Development Area", which was constituted under the UP Industrial Area Development Act on 17 April 1976. Noida is a well-planned integrated industrial township that ranks very high in providing a standard living and industrial development environment among all cities in India. The city is spread in an area of over 20,316 hectares, which is further divided into several fully developed sectors. The city of Noida offers a peaceful and healthy living environment with wide network of roads, clean drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, well developed land, open and green space all around and fully-equipped residential complexes. Noida is situated just at a distance of 14 kms from Connaught Place, the heart of the national capital territory of Delhi. Ghaziabad, another NCR situated in Uttar Pradesh, is located on the north of Noida, while River Yamuna and Hindon meet at its southern border. Towards the east beyond River Hindon exists Greater Noida and towards the west beyond River Yamuna are the States of Delhi and Haryana.
