Sensors

Sensors have found applications in security and many other objects of everyday use. They are a device to convert physical movement into electric signal to be read by human or another instrument. Their quality of being activated by a mere touch of hand or by any change in temperature or luminosity have made them an indispensable part of a typical home automation system.

Sensors are commonly used as in an alarm system requiring some kind of electrical impulse to activate in time of need. They can detect accurately any change in temperature or movement to allow a fire alarm or a burglar alarm to work properly. They are also used in a lighting system to automatically switch on a light when there is a need and switch it off when not required.

According to the purpose, sensors can vary in shape, size and functionality. Some of the most common types of sensors are alarm sensors, movement sensors, light sensors, motion sensors, fire sensors, smoke sensors and so on. They are now also being made available in India in a variety of make and model to serve different purposes.

Wireless technology has brought a radical change in the functionality of modern gadgets and the world of sensors is not an exception. Today we find a great range of wireless sensors for application in home security systems as well in automation system. Apart from that there are sensors with infrared, microwave or dual technology.
