India housing data gives out all the important information on the type of basic amenities given to people. The government also tries its level best to improve the living conditions of its citizens by providing basic amenities. At times, it is not able to focus on all the groups of people because of some or the other problem. This problem can be because of lack of funds, time or reach. If we have a look at the census from 1951:
1951: Data collected on residential housing was bare
1961: Data collected was elaborately explained
1971: Data was published in seperate reports
1981: Classification of houses was made on the basis of number of square feet
1991: Data on type of fuel used for cooking purposes
2001: Classification on the condition of houses in different residential areas
Besides these, the Kerala has been the most developed places in India because of its high rate of literacy and high rate of employement. Saying that the Kerala government takes good care of its citizens is very common but the government has also taken care of single basic necessities like water supply, drinking water, schools, education and so on. In Kerala alone, the government claims of having 76% of piped water supply in urban areas and 59% of the same in rural areas.
The India housing data shows that the total number of houses in India are around 259,095,849 out of which 15,811,192 houses are vacant. Delhi has 3,379,956 number of houses out of which 377,790 are vacant.
India's housing markets have surely seen a boom in the number of houses and occupants in each. The data mentioned here gives us an insight of the total number of households present. The present government is focussing on improving the conditions of living by giving educating people the benefits of a healthy, clean and green environment. |
