The Orissa Development Authorities Act 1982 led to the formation of Bhubaneswar Development Authority with 115 villages of Bhubaneswar, Jatni and Khurda under its jurisdiction. Orissa State Housing Board

The Orissa State Housing Board was set up in the year 1968 by an Act of State Legislature, with prime objective of providing affordable accommodation both in urban and rural areas, to alleviate the acute shortage of housing in the State. The achievements of the Board during the past two & half decades have kept pace with its growth. Till date, the Board has built and sold about 28500 residential houses in the State covering 18 districts, with project cost of Rs.227.35 crores. HUDCO has been the main source of project finance for execution of the housing projects by Board.
