VUDA - Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority
Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority was constituted on 17th June 1978, under Andhra Pradesh Pradesh Urban Areas (Development) Act, 1975.
Urban Housing
VUDA is undertaking various housing projects to meet the demands of growing population in Vishakapatnam. Their housing schemes cover all income groups. They build houses as per the need and budget of the people. Some of the housing schemes undertaken by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority are: Vepagunta LIG Housing Scheme Marripalem Housing Scheme (C Type - LIG) Madhurawada Housing Scheme (HIG)
Some of the functions of VUDA are:
To promote and secure the developmental plans
To devise and put into practice the projects planned for housing infrastructure
To coordinate various developmental projects for implementation of the Master Plan proposals
Providing infrastructure for the plans that have been undertaken
Development of residential and commercial complexes
Housing schemes proposed in the year 2002-2003:
Vepagunta LIG Housing Scheme Phase-II Marripalem Housing Scheme (A Type - HIG)
Mega housing projects at Madhurawada and Rushikonda are coming up with first-rate amenities and facilities.
The Mega Housing Project aims at developing the areas around Vishakapatnam so that the pressure on the city and its infrastructure facilities is reduced
