LDA or Lucknow Development Authority was established in 1974 under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning & Development Act 1973. The development of Lucknow is therefore duly accredited to the Regional Development Authority in the city commonly called LDA Lucknow. The Ministry of Urban Development coordinates and supervises the structured planning projects that LDA takes up to extend the basic infrastructure of the city for accommodating the rapidly increasing population pressure on this capital city of the largest state in India.
LDA Achievements
LDA is on the forefront of the Metropolitan Development Agencies in Uttar Pradesh and has designed a Master plan to develop Lucknow into a city that is a perfect blend of the modern world and rich historical and cultural heritage.
Besides successful development projects of residential colonies in a pollution free and eco friendly environment, LDA also provides the basic amenities and infrastructure facilities. It has also developed commercial properties like retail shops and local shopping complexes, multiplexes, office buildings, schools& other institutions, hospitals, community centres, district parks and other necessary building structures in Lucknow. A name that deserves special mention here is the 'Ambedkar Railly Sthal' that is a one of its kind public meeting center.
